This issue can also occur due to the following reasons –
a) The Activation Licensing database is corrupted.
b) Flight Simulator X is installed incorrectly.
c) Some files for existing user profiles are corrupted.

To resolve this issue, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.

a. Right click on the FSX executable icon.

b. Click Properties.

c. On the Compatibility tab, click to check 'Run this program in the compatibility mode for'.

d. Click OK.

e. Start the game again and try to activate.

Method 2:

Reinstall Flight Simulator X into a new user account

Step 1: Uninstall Flight Simulator X from your computer

a) Hold Windows key and X. Select Control Panel.

b)Click on ‘programs and features’, select ‘Flight Sim X ’and click on uninstall.

Note If you have earlier versions of Flight Simulator in the list of installed programs, you will have to remove them in addition to Flight Simulator X.

Step 2:

You may create a new local account and check if the issue persists. Refer to these steps to create a local account:

a) Press ‘Windows + W’ key to search Settings.

b) Type “Users” without quotes and press enter.

c) To create new user account click on the plus sign (+) ‘Add a User’.

d)Select ‘Don’t want this user to sign in with Microsoft account?’

e) Click on ‘Local account’ button.

f)Enter the User name and click on ‘Next’ button and click on ‘Finish’.

g)Restart the computer.

Step 3:

Re-install the same(Game) using the disc into the new user account.
