“These are my mountains and I have come home.” The boy paid the p..oignant Ralston cairn a visit when he was passing through a very moody and atmospheric looking Glen Coe at the weekend. At ground level the glen was busy with cars, hikers and tourists, but this beautiful viewpoint was serene and people free. 🏔💕See More

The boy’s home now after a wonderful stay at the Pierhouse Hotel, Po..rt Appin. It rained for most of our trip, but that didn’t stop us enjoying lots of nice walks and photo stops. This scenic, short hike was just behind the hotel. The whole trail was covered in rhododendrons - gorgeous. And don’t get me started on that sublime light on those distant mountains. 🥰🌊🏔🌺I’m going to miss this view, my cosy seat by the fire in the hotel snug, the delicious food and being lulled to sleep by the gentle sound of the waves lapping against the shore.
